At any given time, there are several different options regarding how you choose to look at and respond to reality. One way to view yourself, others and situations is through a negative filter, but this approach diminishes happiness and serves to worsen the situation. Another approach is to look only for the best in people and situations. The upside here is that you feel better, and greater optimism is very helpful in creating solutions, but you may not see the truth of a situation with only a positive filter. The third option allows you to have a balanced perception of reality. From the mental and emotional vantage point of the neutral observer, things look very different. In this state you are open to truth and positioned to act in a balanced way.
