When you catch yourself struggling to maintain your positive outlook, stop whatever it is you are doing and quietly look around. Take in the landscape or cityscape, the faces of other people and the sky above. Look at your own hands, watch children playing, a bird flying and the changing leaves of fall. Then, close your eyes and imagine your life without the gift of sight. Let the gratitude that comes bring your positive outlook back to life, open your eyes once again and behold the magnificent procession of life all around you. Life is great!
