Coaching Tip #812

by Marcus

When you let others get to you – “push your buttons” – you are giving your power away. Rather than automatically taking what others say personally, and hurting yourself with it, step back and ask yourself if it’s true or not. If what they say is not true, let it pass you by unscathed and remain strong. If, on the other hand, their statement is accurate, own it, work to correct the situation in yourself and grow stronger. Whether another’s statement to you is true or false, you always have the choice to empower yourself or not. In truth, people can push your buttons only, when you give them access.
