Most of us are taught to forgive others for their transgressions. However, we often find it difficult, if not impossible, to forgive ourselves for the missteps we make in life. Does being your own worst critic and holding the past against yourself really work? I suggest that there is a better way. Hold yourself accountable for your missteps – own them – learn and grow from your experiences and forgive yourself, or at least cut yourself some slack for not being “perfect”. Your self-worth will thank you, and your life will improve.
